What's inside
What's inside the consulting templates
Eight files (six Word, one PowerPoint, one PDF), in the order you'd use them.
New client onboarding checklist (PDF)
35 steps in seven stages, from the first request to a progress-report cadence. Before any planning, it has you collect revenue, overhead, historical CAC (customer acquisition cost) and P&L (profit and loss) statements, so advice rests on real numbers.
Management consulting plan (Word)
Background, The Problem, Observations, Research and Information, Proposed Solution and Impact, then a DACI table naming the driver and who is accountable, responsible and informed. Writing down the problem's cost first keeps the solution honest.
Client action plan deck (PowerPoint template)
16 consulting slides that walk a client from the problem to your strategic recommendations and their projected impact. A slide bank adds section, photo, quote, content and quarterly revenue-against-goal layouts.
SWOT analysis and Five Forces templates (Word)
A blank SWOT analysis grid (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats) with a filled-in Netflix example, and Porter's Five Forces with an example for AJ's Cereal Co. Use SWOT to identify gaps and Five Forces to gauge market pressure.
Business, marketing and sales plan templates (Word)
A nine-section business plan with startup costs, sales forecasts, break-even and projected P&L in its finance section. The marketing plan covers initiatives, personas, market strategy and budget; the sales plan runs from team to prospecting and goals.
How to use it
From consulting proposal to final deck
Follow the checklist's order, in three stretches.
Before the first meeting
Scope the project, draft the consulting plan and put a budget on it. Then send it for internal review, where a colleague will spot a vague Impact section in minutes. Only then does the potential client see it, with a meeting date.
- Scope before you draft
- Review internally first
Onboard and analyse
Onboarding new clients starts once the contract is signed: welcome email, questionnaire, then the financials while everyone is keen. Run the SWOT with the client in the room. If the cause isn't obvious, a fishbone (Ishikawa) diagram helps with root-cause analysis.
- Financials in week one
- SWOT with the client
Present, then agree a rhythm
Put each plan section on its own slide and polish until the story is cohesive. Present your consulting recommendations, then do the step that's easiest to skip: collect feedback, make changes, and fix the meeting and reporting cadence before the real work starts.
- One section per slide
- Reporting dates agreed
Guide
Writing the plan and consulting presentations
Templates handle structure. Here's how we'd make the judgement calls.
Using the plan as a consulting proposal template
The consulting plan is ready to send once you add fees, payment terms and what's out of scope. The Problem and Impact are the persuasive parts, so back them with a case study, not a sales pitch. HubSpot's 2025 State of Sales Report names the two most common reasons deals die as no product fit (37%) and poor value for money (35%). Those two sections answer both.

Cost the problem before offering a fix. In this made-up example, a 25-person IT support firm signed 3 new contracts in the last 6 months, against 6 in the same period last year. At AED 100,000 a contract, that's AED 600,000 a year lost. Observations (insights from sales data and staff interviews): quotes take 3 weeks and nobody follows up. Solution: a 12-week roadmap to a 5-day turnaround. Impact: back to 6 contracts a half-year.
Consulting slides that get buy-in
Write every slide title as a conclusion ('Quotes take 3 weeks', not 'Sales process'), so a stakeholder who reads only titles still follows. That's what people usually mean by McKinsey, BCG (Boston Consulting Group) or PwC style consulting decks. Projected Impact is the slide your client must defend internally, marketing clients especially: in HubSpot's 2026 State of Marketing report, 33% of marketers named proving marketing ROI (return on investment) as their biggest challenge. Give each outcome a number and a date. AI can draft wording, not numbers.
Solo consultant or consulting firm
Working alone, cut the Meet the Team slide and use the checklist as your own to-do list. A firm should fill in DACI properly, because that's where sign-offs stop slipping between partners. B2B clients (businesses selling to other businesses) tend to bring more approvers and slower sign-off. B2C work usually moves faster and leans on customer numbers such as repeat purchases.
Common mistakes, and what good looks like
The classic slip is a client file with the Netflix or cereal example still in it. Others: a blank Impact section, AI-written filler, no internal review, and reporting agreed after the first awkward month. A well-structured engagement file looks plain: one plan, slides that match it section for section, every checklist step ticked and the first progress report already in both calendars.

FAQ
Questions about consulting templates
Straight answers before you download.
Start with the client's problem and its cost. Then give your observations, solution, timeline, deliverables and expected impact, plus who does what. Fees and terms go last; the consulting plan template has every section but those two.
Effective presentations put the answer first. The deck template runs introduction, problem, observations, proposed solution, projected impact and questions. Keep a simple design with one message per slide, and use the slide bank for extras such as graphs or infographics.
There's no official list. Often it means the 5C analysis (company, customers, competitors, collaborators, context), a situation check much like this kit's SWOT and Five Forces templates. Some use it for a consultant's personal qualities instead.
For most client projects: a plan, an onboarding checklist, an analysis framework, a presentation and a progress report. This kit covers the first four. There's no consulting report template in it, and for contracts, consult a lawyer.
Yes. Fill in the form (name, email, company, phone, country and one yes-or-no question) and the download button appears here straight away. The ZIP holds six Word documents, a PowerPoint presentation and a one-page PDF.
Yes. Upload the Word files to Google Drive and open them with Google Docs; the Microsoft PowerPoint template opens in Slides the same way. Add your logo and brand fonts, then check the layout. The PDF checklist is best printed.
