PPC in Dubai, measured in qualified leads rather than clicks

Any agency can lower your cost per click. That is the easy number and it is close to meaningless, because the cheapest clicks are usually the ones least likely to buy. We run Google Ads against cost per qualified lead, which means the ads team has to care what happens after the click.

The stack we work in, the clients we keep

The platforms we build and run campaigns in, and the clients whose numbers we publish with their names on. HubSpot is the one partnership we claim; the rest are tools we use, not badges.

The problem

The click is not the product

A PPC report full of impressions, clicks and click-through rate can look excellent while the business gets nothing. Every metric in that report describes the ad. None of them describes a customer.

Where the money actually goes

  1. Broad match spends where nobody asked it to

Google's own recommendations push broad match and automated bidding because they grow spend. On a Dubai account with a mixed audience, that reliably buys clicks from people searching in another emirate, in another language, for a service you do not sell.

  2. Nobody connects the ad to the sale

Conversions are counted as form fills. Half of them are recruiters, students and competitors. The account optimises towards whatever it is told is a conversion, so a badly defined conversion actively trains the campaign to find worse people.

  3. The landing page was never part of the brief

The ad is rewritten monthly and the page it points at has not changed in two years. Doubling the conversion rate of that page halves the cost per lead without touching the media budget, and it is nearly always the cheaper fix.

  4. The account is not yours

Some agencies run clients inside their own MCC on their own billing. Leave, and you lose years of conversion history, which is the single most valuable asset in a mature account. Ask who owns the account before you sign anything.

What is included

What Google Ads management actually covers

Search is the core of it. The rest is included where it earns its place, and left off where it does not.

Search campaigns

The bulk of most accounts. Tight ad groups, exact and phrase match on the terms that convert, broad match only where there is enough conversion volume to control it. Search term reports read weekly, not monthly, because that is where the waste hides.

Performance Max, when it fits

PMax works when you have strong conversion data and real creative. It works badly as a first campaign, because it needs signal it does not have yet and it will spend the budget learning. We run search first and add PMax once the conversion data is honest.

Google Shopping

Feed quality decides Shopping performance more than bidding does. Titles, attributes, GTINs, availability accuracy and Merchant Center disapprovals get fixed before anybody argues about bid strategy.

Display and remarketing

Useful for bringing back people who already showed intent. Rarely useful for finding new ones. We cap it, exclude the mobile-app placements that eat budget, and check placement reports rather than trusting the network.

Microsoft Ads

Smaller volume in the UAE, and often meaningfully cheaper for B2B. Worth running as an import once search is stable, not worth building from scratch on day one.

Conversion tracking rebuilt

Almost every account we inherit has this wrong. Enhanced conversions, offline conversion import from the CRM where the sales cycle allows it, and a definition of conversion that means a lead your sales team would actually want.

Landing pages

Built or fixed as part of the engagement. Message match with the ad, one clear action, and a form that asks for what qualifies rather than everything you might one day want.

Bid strategy and budget pacing

Manual to start on thin data, automated once there is enough of it. Budgets paced so campaigns are not dark for the last week of the month, which is a more common failure than it should be.

Technology

What we run the account with

Platform tools where they are best, independent tools where the platform has an interest in the answer.

Platforms

Where the media is bought.

  • Google Ads
  • Google Merchant Center
  • Microsoft Advertising
  • Google Ads Editor
  • Meta Ads Manager

Measurement

So the number survives scrutiny.

  • Google Analytics 4
  • Google Tag Manager
  • Server-side tagging
  • Offline conversion import
  • Looker Studio

Research

Independent of the platform selling the clicks.

  • Semrush
  • ValueSERP live SERP data
  • Google Keyword Planner

  • Competitor ad library review

Conversion

Because the click is only half of it.

  • Landing page build
  • A/B testing
  • Heatmaps and session replay
  • Form analytics

How we work

How a PPC engagement runs

First fortnight is diagnosis and repair. After that it is a weekly cycle with a monthly number that finance recognises.

Before anything is switched off

Account structure, search terms, conversion definitions, tracking integrity, landing pages and competitors. Most inherited accounts have at least one conversion counted twice and at least one campaign quietly spending on the wrong country.

  • Search term waste quantified in dirhams
  • Conversion tracking verified end to end
  • Auction insights against real competitors
  • Findings written down before changes

Structure and tracking first

Campaigns restructured around intent, negatives applied, conversions redefined against what sales calls a lead, and landing pages fixed where they are the constraint. This is where most of the improvement comes from, and none of it is clever bidding.

  • Match types and negatives set deliberately
  • Conversion actions rebuilt from the CRM
  • Landing page fixes shipped
  • Budget reallocated to what converts

Weekly, not monthly

Search terms reviewed weekly, bids and budgets adjusted against pacing, creative tested in a queue rather than all at once. Changes are logged with a reason so the account has a history you can read.

  • Weekly search term review
  • Change log with reasoning
  • Creative testing queue
  • Budget pacing checked against the month

One number, then the detail

Cost per qualified lead first, then the breakdown. If the number moved the wrong way we say what we think caused it before you ask. A report that only ever contains good news is not a report.

  • Cost per qualified lead reported monthly
  • Spend reconciled against the invoice
  • What we changed and why
  • What we are trying next

Why us

Why this account will be different

Mostly by refusing the parts of the standard model that are convenient for agencies.

The account stays yours

Built in your Google Ads account on your billing, with us as a linked manager. You can revoke our access this afternoon and lose nothing. Conversion history is the most valuable thing in a mature account and it should not be hostage to a contract.

We report cost per qualified lead

Which means we have to care what sales does with what we send. Where the CRM supports it we import offline conversions, so the account optimises towards leads that closed rather than forms that submitted.

Landing pages are in scope

We build websites. When the page is the constraint rather than the media, we fix the page — which usually costs less than the media increase an agency would propose instead.

A senior person is in the account

Not a junior executing a checklist a strategist wrote once. Search term reviews are where accounts are won and lost, and they need judgement about your business.

Start a projectSend us read-only access and we will tell you what is wrong with the account before you commit to anything.

Questions

PPC in Dubai, answered plainly

Including what it costs, why it feels expensive, and how it differs from SEM.

AED 4,500 to AED 18,000 covers most of what we are asked to build. The number moves on how many campaigns and markets, whether Shopping and a product feed are involved, how many languages, and whether landing pages are in scope. Media spend is separate and paid to Google directly. Anything quoted before those are known is a guess. We scope first, then price, and the scope document is yours whether or not you proceed. These are market ranges rather than a fixed rate card — the proposal carries the real figure.

Two numbers, and they should never be quoted as one. Media spend goes to Google — most Dubai SMEs we work with start between AED 8,000 and AED 30,000 a month, and competitive categories like real estate, legal and cosmetic clinics need more. Management is a separate fee. Be careful with agencies quoting a single blended number, because it hides how much of your money reaches the auction.

Because the auction is a market and Dubai has an unusually high concentration of well-funded advertisers in a few categories. In real estate, legal services and aesthetics, single clicks can pass AED 40. That is not an agency marking anything up, it is competitors bidding. The response is not to pay less per click, it is to convert more of the clicks you buy — which is why landing pages are part of the work.

No. Percentage-of-spend gives an agency a direct financial interest in you spending more, which is the wrong incentive to build a relationship on. We charge a flat monthly fee based on the work the account needs, so recommending that you spend less costs us nothing.

SEM is the broader term. It covers everything you do to appear on a search results page through paid placement, and historically it included SEO too. PPC is the pricing model underneath it, where you pay only when someone clicks. In practice people use them interchangeably. If you want Google Ads run, this page is the right one. If you want paid search planned alongside organic as one search strategy, our search engine marketing page covers that.

Yes. PPC is simply the abbreviation. It describes the billing model — you pay per click rather than per impression — and it has become shorthand for paid search generally.

Not at the start, and running it first is a common expensive mistake. PMax hands targeting to Google's model, which needs good conversion data to work with. Give it bad data and it will confidently spend your budget finding more of the wrong people. Search first, clean conversion tracking second, PMax third.

Structural fixes to negatives and conversion tracking often show inside two to three weeks. A real read on cost per qualified lead takes about ninety days, because you need enough closed leads to know whether the cheap ones were any good. Anyone promising a transformation in the first month is describing a click metric.

Then we say so. Some categories cannot support paid search at current auction prices with your margin, and the honest answer is to fix pricing or conversion first rather than to keep buying clicks. We would rather tell you that in month two than defend a retainer for a year.

Yes, and we prefer it. Read-only access, a written findings document with the waste quantified in dirhams, and no obligation. It is the fastest way for both sides to find out whether there is anything worth doing.

We work in Google Ads daily and manage accounts in your own billing. Where a formal partner badge matters to your procurement process, ask us and we will tell you exactly where we stand rather than putting a logo on a page and hoping nobody checks.

Nothing. It is your account, in your billing, with your conversion history intact. We remove our manager access and you carry on. There is no exit fee and no data to hand back, because you always had it.

No questions match — try another search.
