What changed
Meta has shared two updates to Edits, its video editing app, as reported by Social Media Today. The first is a dedicated version of Edits built for the folding screen of Apple's iPhone Duo, and it's available now. The second is an early look at the Edits desktop app, which some users are already testing.
On the Duo, the layout changes with the way you hold the device and works around the crease. Meta says the larger screen lets you edit and preview your timeline side by side. That helps most when the person trimming clips also checks the result in the same sitting.
The desktop app is in testing
Creator Taylor Golub posted a screenshot of the desktop version, which is still in testing with some users. The image shows far more editing controls on one screen than the phone app can fit, so moving between tools should take fewer taps. Meta first announced the desktop version in June, and selected creators can now use a live build.
Instagram chief Adam Mosseri expects the desktop app to become "a foundation for a lot of interesting features to come." He didn't say which features, so treat it as a direction rather than a roadmap. It's possible some of them will only make sense on a large screen with room for a full timeline.

Who it affects in the UAE
Edits comes from Meta, the company behind Instagram and Facebook, so the news touches any UAE brand that posts Reels. If someone on your team already shoots and cuts on a phone, the Duo version gives them a bigger working area without opening a laptop. If your editor works at a desk, the desktop app is the bigger change, though for now it's an exclusive preview for selected creators.
The source says nothing about the iPad or other iOS devices. Check the App Store listing before you plan your team's editing workflow around a tablet.
What a Dubai business should do now
You don't need to change anything this week, because mobile editing works as it did and your current Reels process still holds. These small habits will make the move to a bigger screen easier when it comes:
Keep raw footage and brand files in one shared folder, so whoever edits can pick them up on any device.
Shoot against a clean background and leave room at the edges of the frame. A wider preview on a bigger screen shows framing mistakes that a small mobile screen hides.
Check that on-screen text stays clear of the buttons that sit over a Reel in the feed before you post.
If the same Reel also goes to Facebook, check the crop there before it goes live.
When the desktop app reaches more users, test it on one campaign before you move your whole team across.
If you'd rather hand the work over, our video production company in Dubai team can take the shoot and the edit off your plate.
Tracking what the edit earns
A cleaner edit only matters if the video does its job once it runs. The Adnika Dashboard: one live view of a client's ads, analytics and CRM data, with AI recommendations reviewed by the strategist. For a video client, it's where you see which cut of a Reel brought in enquiries after it ran as an ad.
