Performance marketing

Search engine marketing, planned as one search strategy

Most companies run paid search and SEO as two budgets with two agencies and no shared plan. The predictable result is paying for clicks on terms you already rank for, and ignoring terms where paid is the only realistic route in. SEM is deciding that deliberately, query by query.

  • One plan paid and organic together
  • Query level where the decision is made
  • 7 published programmes

Partners & recognition

The stack we work in, the clients we keep

The platforms we build and run campaigns in, and the clients whose numbers we publish with their names on. HubSpot is the one partnership we claim; the rest are tools we use, not badges.

The problem

Two budgets, one results page

Google shows one page. A visitor does not know or care which of your budgets paid for the listing they clicked. Splitting the two internally makes sense to your org chart and to nobody else.

What the split costs

  1. You pay for clicks you already own

Bidding on your own brand term when you rank first organically and no competitor is bidding is money spent to move a click from free to paid. Sometimes it is defensible. Usually nobody has checked, because the two teams do not share a report.

  2. Nobody covers the gaps

Terms where you rank on page three and cannot realistically get to page one this year are exactly where paid earns its place. Terms where you rank first and paid adds nothing are where it does not. Without one view, both decisions get made by accident.

  3. Landing pages get built twice

The paid team builds a landing page. The SEO team writes a service page. Both target the same query, neither links to the other, and the two compete for the same slot.

  4. The reporting cannot be compared

Paid reports cost per conversion. Organic reports rankings and sessions. Neither answers what it costs to acquire a customer through search, which is the only question the finance director is asking.

What is included

What search engine marketing covers here

One plan across both halves of the results page, with the decision made per query rather than per department.

Query-level paid and organic mapping

Every commercial term in your category, scored on volume, difficulty, current organic position and paid cost. Then a decision per term: buy it, earn it, or do both because it is worth owning twice.

Paid search execution

Google Ads and Microsoft Ads run properly — tight structure, weekly search term reviews, honest conversion definitions. Detailed on our PPC page, and the same team runs it.

Organic search execution

Technical fixes, page architecture and content built to win specific queries. Detailed across our SEO cluster.

Shared landing page strategy

One page per intent, built to convert paid traffic and to rank. Where the two genuinely need different pages we say so and explain why, rather than duplicating by default.

Brand term policy

A written position on whether you bid on your own name, informed by whether competitors are, what your organic listing already captures, and what the incremental clicks cost.

Blended search reporting

Cost per acquisition across paid and organic together, plus the split. So the question 'what does search cost us' has one answer.

Shopping and feed work

For retail, paid Shopping and organic product visibility come from the same feed quality and the same product data. Treating them separately duplicates the work.

Competitor auction and SERP monitoring

Who is bidding, who is ranking, and what changed. Auction insights and live SERP tracking read together, because a competitor moving in paid often precedes a move in organic.

Technology

What the plan is built on

Independent SERP data first, because the platform selling the clicks is not a neutral source on whether you need them.

Search data

The market as it actually is.

  • Semrush
  • ValueSERP live SERP data
  • Google Search Console
  • Google Keyword Planner
  • Auction insights

Paid

Where the media is bought.

  • Google Ads
  • Microsoft Advertising
  • Google Merchant Center
  • Google Ads Editor

Organic

The other half of the page.

  • Screaming Frog
  • Ahrefs
  • Schema markup
  • Core Web Vitals

Measurement

One number across both.

  • Google Analytics 4
  • Google Tag Manager
  • Looker Studio
  • Offline conversion import

How we work

How an SEM engagement runs

The mapping comes first and it is the deliverable that changes decisions. Execution follows it.

Every commercial query, scored

Volume, difficulty, your current organic position, current paid cost and competitor presence in both. This is where most of the value is, and it is usually the first time anyone has seen the whole search picture in one place.

  • Full commercial query set for your category
  • Organic position and paid cost per term
  • Competitor presence in paid and organic
  • Gaps and overlaps identified

Buy it, earn it, or both

A written position per query cluster with the reasoning attached. Including where we recommend switching paid off because organic already covers it, which is the recommendation that pays for the engagement.

  • Per-cluster paid or organic decision
  • Brand bidding policy written down
  • Budget reallocated against the map
  • Pages consolidated where two competed

Both halves, one team

Campaigns restructured and pages built or fixed against the same plan. The same people see both reports, so a query that stops converting in paid triggers a look at the organic page rather than a bid increase.

  • Paid restructured to the map
  • Pages built to win the earned terms
  • Internal linking supports the priority queries
  • One landing page per intent

Blended, then split

What search costs to acquire a customer, then the paid and organic split underneath. Reviewed monthly, with the map revisited quarterly because auction prices and your own rankings both move.

  • Blended cost per acquisition
  • Paid and organic split
  • Map refreshed quarterly
  • Terms that changed hands flagged

Why us

Why one plan beats two budgets

The argument is simple: the visitor sees one page.

The decision is made per query, not per department

Some terms are worth buying and some are worth earning, and which is which changes with your rankings and the auction price. That decision cannot be made by two teams who do not share a report.

You find out what search actually costs

Blended cost per acquisition across paid and organic is the number the business needs. Almost nobody reports it, because it requires the two halves to be measured together.

We will tell you to spend less on ads

When organic already owns a term, paid on top of it is usually incremental at best. We run both, so recommending you switch a campaign off does not cost us the account.

One team, one plan

Paid and organic run by people who talk to each other, and a single document both are working from. If you would rather keep your existing SEO agency, we will work to the same map with them.

Start a projectIf you have paid and organic in two places, the map is worth doing on its own. It is a fixed-price piece of work and it is yours either way.

Questions

Search engine marketing, answered plainly

Starting with the question the results page actually gets asked most.

AED 9,000 to AED 35,000 covers most of what we are asked to build. The number moves on how many query clusters and markets are in scope, whether both paid and organic execution are included or only the mapping, and how many languages. Media spend is separate. Anything quoted before those are known is a guess. We scope first, then price, and the scope document is yours whether or not you proceed. These are market ranges rather than a fixed rate card — the proposal carries the real figure.

SEO is earning a listing. SEM is the wider discipline of getting visibility on a search results page, and in most current usage it means the paid side plus the strategy that decides between the two. The useful way to think about it: SEO is one of the tools SEM chooses from.

Historically yes — SEM was coined to cover everything you do to appear in search, paid and organic together. Over time the industry narrowed SEM to mean paid search, and now both usages are in circulation. We use the original one, because planning them separately is the mistake this page exists to fix.

Neither, and the question is usually the wrong one. Paid buys you a position today and stops the moment you stop paying. Organic takes months and then keeps working. For a term you can realistically rank for, organic wins on economics over a year. For a term dominated by competitors with far more authority, paid may be the only route in. The answer is per query, not per channel.

The common split is on-page, off-page, technical and local. On-page is the content and structure of the page itself. Off-page is mostly links and mentions elsewhere. Technical is crawling, indexing and speed. Local covers Google Business Profile and map results, which for a Dubai service business is often the highest-return of the four.

Sometimes. If a competitor is bidding on it, usually yes, because their ad sits above your organic listing. If nobody is and you rank first, you are often paying for a click you would have had free. It is worth testing by pausing brand campaigns for two weeks and measuring total brand traffic rather than assuming either way.

Yes. The map is a standalone piece of work with a fixed price and it is written to be handed to whoever executes, including your existing agencies. Several clients use it exactly that way.

It works, and it is common. We run the paid side and the mapping, share the map with your SEO agency, and everybody works from one document. The thing that must not happen is two teams optimising for the same query without knowing it.

The paid half moves in weeks. The organic half takes three to six months for meaningful movement on competitive Dubai terms, longer on the hardest ones. The mapping itself often changes where money goes in the first month, which is the fastest win available.

Blended cost per acquisition first — total search spend divided by customers acquired through search — then the split by channel underneath it. Plus movement on the priority query clusters from the map, so you can see terms changing hands.

Yes. Volume in the UAE is much smaller than Google, but cost per click is often materially lower and the audience skews towards desktop and B2B. It is worth running as an import once Google search is stable.

No questions match — try another search.

Next step

Do you know which search terms you are paying for twice?

Most companies do not, because paid and organic sit in different reports. The map is a fixed-price piece of work that answers it.
