Video & photography

Shoppable video, tracked to revenue rather than views

Putting a buy button inside a video only helps if the video was persuading someone in the first place. Most shoppable video underperforms because the format was added to content that was not selling anything, and a checkout on top of a weak product film is still a weak product film.

  • In the video the buy step, not after it
  • Tracked to revenue, per product
  • Feed-aware built on your real catalogue

Partners & recognition

The stack we work in, the clients we keep

The platforms we build and run campaigns in, and the clients whose numbers we publish with their names on. HubSpot is the one partnership we claim; the rest are tools we use, not badges.

The problem

A buy button on a weak film

Shoppable formats do not create desire. They remove friction from desire that already exists. Adding one to a video nobody was persuaded by changes nothing except the reporting.

Why it underperforms

  1. The video was not selling anything

A brand mood film with a buy button. The viewer was never in a buying frame of mind, and removing a click from a journey nobody was on has no effect.

  2. The product is not clearly shown

Shoppable video works for products where seeing them in motion and in context changes the decision. Fashion, furniture, cosmetics, food. For a product that a photograph explains adequately, the format adds cost rather than conversion.

  3. The catalogue data is wrong

The video links to a variant that is out of stock, or a price that has changed, or a product that has been renamed. Feed quality decides this format more than production quality does, and it is nobody's job.

  4. Nothing is tracked to revenue

Views and click-throughs get reported. Revenue per video, per product and per placement does not, so nobody can say which content sold anything and the next commission is guesswork.

What is included

What shoppable video covers here

Production, integration and the measurement that tells you whether to make more.

Product-led video production

Content built to sell a specific product rather than brand film with tagging added. The product on screen, in use, at the moment the viewer is deciding.

On-site shoppable players

Embedded on product and category pages, with the buy step inside the video. Integrated with your store so stock and price are live rather than baked in.

Platform-native shoppable formats

TikTok Shop, Instagram and YouTube shopping features, where the transaction happens inside the platform. Different constraints and different feed requirements from your own site.

Live shopping

Scheduled live sessions with purchase inside the stream. Works well for some categories here and needs genuine promotion beforehand, because an unpromoted live session has no audience.

Catalogue and feed work

Making sure the product data behind the video is accurate. This decides more of the outcome than the film does, and it is consistently the part nobody owns.

User-generated and creator content

Creator videos made shoppable, with rights cleared. Frequently outperforms produced content in this format because it reads as a recommendation rather than an advert.

Revenue tracking

Attribution per video, per product and per placement, into your analytics and your store. So the next production decision is informed rather than instinctive.

Performance and page speed

Video players are heavy and a product page that loads slowly converts worse, which can cancel out everything the format gained. Built with lazy loading and measured against Core Web Vitals.

Technology

What we build this with

Store platform at one end, production at the other, and the feed in between.

Commerce

Where the transaction happens.

  • Shopify and Shopify Plus
  • WooCommerce
  • Custom storefronts
  • TikTok Shop
  • Instagram and YouTube shopping

Production

Made to sell a product.

  • Vertical product video
  • Creator and UGC production
  • Studio product filming
  • Fast-turnaround editing

Integration

Where it usually breaks.

  • Product feed management
  • Live stock and price binding
  • Shoppable player integration
  • Page speed engineering

Measurement

Revenue, not views.

  • Revenue attribution per video
  • Google Analytics 4
  • Store analytics
  • A/B testing against a control

How we work

How shoppable video work runs

Decide whether the product suits it, fix the feed, then produce.

Product by product

Which products genuinely benefit from being seen in motion, and which are adequately explained by a photograph. Shoppable video is worth the cost on the first group only.

  • Products assessed individually
  • Categories where photography is enough, excluded
  • Placement decided: site, platform or both
  • Realistic revenue target set

Before producing anything

Product data, variants, stock accuracy and pricing. A shoppable video pointing at a renamed or out-of-stock variant fails silently and looks like the format not working.

  • Catalogue accuracy audited
  • Variant and stock binding tested
  • Pricing verified as live, not cached
  • Feed errors fixed before launch

For the placement

Vertical for platform-native, whatever suits the page for on-site. Product shown clearly, in use, with the buying moment built into the edit rather than added at the end.

  • Cut for the placement, not resized
  • Product legible at mobile size
  • Buy step timed to the moment of interest
  • Creator content used where it fits

By revenue

Revenue per video, per product, per placement. Tested against a control page where possible, so the uplift is measured rather than assumed.

  • Revenue attributed per video
  • Tested against a control where traffic allows
  • Page speed impact measured
  • Next productions chosen on the data

Why us

Why this converts rather than just plays

Because the unglamorous parts are treated as part of the work.

Only for products it suits

We will tell you which of your categories do not need this. A photograph explains many products perfectly well and adding video to those is cost without return.

The feed is fixed first

Stock, variants and pricing accurate before anything is produced. A video pointing at a dead variant fails quietly and gets blamed on the format.

Measured in revenue per video

Not views, not click-through. Tested against a control page where traffic allows, so you know whether it worked rather than believing it did.

Page speed is part of the scope

Video players are heavy and a slower product page converts worse. We build sites, so the performance cost is engineered rather than accepted.

Questions

Shoppable video, answered plainly

Starting with what the search term returns, because it explains a lot.

AED 12,000 to AED 70,000 covers most of what we are asked to build. The number moves on how many products and videos, whether the store integration needs building, whether creator content is included, and whether platform-native formats are in scope alongside on-site. Anything quoted before those are known is a guess. We scope first, then price, and the scope document is yours whether or not you proceed. These are market ranges rather than a fixed rate card — the proposal carries the real figure.

Because most people searching it want either a tool or a definition. The first result is a Shopify app and the rest are guides. There is no agency competing on that term. If you are here to have this built and integrated rather than to install an app, that is what this page is for, and if an app would genuinely solve your problem we will say so.

A video with the purchase step inside it, so a viewer can add to basket or buy without leaving the video. It can live on your own product pages or inside a platform such as TikTok Shop or Instagram. The mechanism is simple; whether it earns its cost depends entirely on the product and the content.

Anything where seeing it in motion or in context changes the decision. Fashion, furniture, cosmetics, food, anything with a demonstrable use. Products that a good photograph explains adequately, such as most commodity items and many components, generally do not justify it.

Different jobs. Platform-native reaches people who were not shopping and captures impulse purchases. On-site converts people already considering. Most retailers should do on-site first because the traffic is already qualified, then test platform-native.

For some categories, and it needs real promotion. A live session with no audience is an expensive way to talk to nobody, so the pre-promotion matters more than the production. We would test a recorded shoppable format before committing to a live programme.

It can, and that has to be engineered rather than accepted. Video players are heavy and a slower product page converts worse, which can wipe out the gain. We lazy-load, measure against Core Web Vitals and check the net effect rather than only the video's own conversion rate.

Shopify and Shopify Plus, WooCommerce and most custom storefronts, yes. The integration work is mostly about binding live stock and price rather than baking them in, which is where these implementations usually break.

Revenue attributed per video, per product and per placement. Where a category has enough traffic we test against a control page without video, so the uplift is measured rather than assumed. Views are reported and are not the point.

We will not quote you a figure, and be careful with anyone who does — the numbers circulating in this category come from vendor case studies selected for being impressive. What we can say is that it works considerably better on visual, consideration-heavy products than on commodity ones, and that testing against a control is the only way to know for your catalogue.

Yes. We build Shopify and WooCommerce stores, so the video, the integration and the page performance are one scope rather than a production company handing files to a developer who was not in the conversation.
